Result

€740,000 saved during the project · €2.2 million potential per year

With a production capacity of 30,000 tonnes per year, Victor Buyck Steel Construction is the largest steel constructor in Belgium and one of the largest in Europe.

During an analysis, Vocum established that a potential saving of €2.2 million per year was possible at the production sites located in Eeklo and Wondelgem.

Together with Vocum, a number of points were realised, including:

  • The bottlenecks related to fabrication were mapped out together.
  • Focus was placed, among other things, on creating and introducing a production schedule, which made it possible to plan over shorter horizons with an eye on the budgets.
  • A weekly production meeting was also set up, where actions are evaluated and adjusted where necessary.

The savings realised during the project are naturally lower than that €2.2 million, because Vocum needs time to realise those savings and because the project lasted only nine months. Vocum therefore committed to realising a saving of €740,000 during the project, which was also achieved.

Vocum committed to realising a saving of €740,000 during the project, which was also achieved.
